Our Doctors
Dr. Michelle Pote
Dr. Abigail LaRosa
Dr. Abigail LaRosa grew up in the small New England town of Hampton, on the seacoast of New Hampshire. Her love of animals and basketball led her to the University of New Hampshire. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in biology while playing NCAA Division 1 basketball for the UNH Wildcats. Upon graduation, Dr. LaRosa attended the University of Missouri where she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. During veterinary school, she conducted and presented research at the Merial-NIH Veterinary Scholar Symposium and volunteered at local animal shelters.
During her free time, Dr. LaRosa competed on the recreation basketball team, and enjoyed kickboxing and hiking on the weekends. Upon graduation from veterinary school, Dr. LaRosa moved to Las Vegas, where her love for veterinary medicine continued to grow. After 3.5 years, Dr. LaRosa returned to the Northeast to be near her family, and joined PAH shortly after. Her professional interests include, but are not limited to dentistry, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery. Outside of work, Dr. LaRosa loves staying active, traveling, hiking and doing just about anything outdoors. She also enjoys dining with friends and spending time with her family. She and her husband Clinton share their home with their "dog children," Chase (Greyhound mix), Callie (Catahoula), Diego (Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix), and Darla Mae (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel).
Dr. Kari Camelio
Dr. Kari Camelio grew up in central California, also known as ‘cowboy country’, surrounded by farms, orchards, dogs, and horses. This early environment developed Dr. Camelio’s deep connection to animals. Moving to Los Angeles as a young adult, Dr. Camelio worked as a veterinary technician and volunteered at the renowned Wildlife Way Station where she encountered every type of wild and exotic animal. She continued her education by obtaining her Bachelor of Science in marine biology at UCLA and then went on to veterinary school at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. She has a passion for soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and dentistry, but what truly brings her joy is building trusting, heartfelt connections with her furry patients and their humans.
In her free time, Dr. Camelio enjoys the outdoors and recreational activities such as kayaking, golf, pickleball, hiking, skiing, and swimming. She has relocated from California to Maine, specifically to enjoy all that ‘vacationland’ has to offer, including four, actual seasons. Dr. Camelio plans to explore the state with her partner and her two dogs and hopefully see a moose for the very, first time.

Jennifer Practice Manager
Jennifer joined Piscataqua Animal Hospital in April of 1994. She started as a kennel attendant, then became a technician while also acquiring management duties. Currently, she spends 95 percent of her time focusing on working “on the business, instead of in the business.” Jennifer attended the University of New Hampshire for animal science, and completed business courses at Hesser College.
Jennifer married her husband Paul in 1998; the both grew up on the Seacoast of New Hampshire. Their daughter Olivia currently attends the University of New Hampshire. Their Shetland Sheepdog, Iris, is the queen of the pond. Although she loves to spend most of her time at home, Jennifer does love to travel whenever she has the chance. She and her husband spend quite a lot of time on their boat. She also enjoys interior design and spending time with her family.
One of Jennifer’s favorite local establishments that she frequently treats herself to is Surf, in downtown Portsmouth. Though she doesn’t usually care for seafood, she’s quite partial to their chicken ceasar Brussels sprout salad.

It took her a little while, but soon enough she realized she wouldn’t have a better employer than PAH. For Leslie, working for Frank and Mike is second to none--she needed to come “home.” So, she returned to PAH in 2019 as a receptionist; however, she is also often seen treating patients and working on client education.
